Jesus said “And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not the end. ‘For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these are merely the beginning of birth pangs.'”
Since the end of WWII in 1945, our world has only had 3 weeks of peace without a war or conflict. There was the Korean war; the Vietnam war; Israeli-Palestinian conflict; the Gulf war; wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Syria, Libya, Central and North Africa, the Congo, the Philippines, Somalia, Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Mali, and Yemen.
“Wars are raging. Arms deals are being struck behind the closed doors of our enemies. There are rumors of more wars breaking out as a nuclear arms race begins in the most dangerous part of the world – the Middle East. Kingdom is rising against kingdom” says Anne Graham Lotz.
When Jesus said “many will come in my name,” He meant it. Take a look: Jim Jones – The Peoples’ Temple; David Koresh – Branch Davidians; Sun Myung Moon – South Korea; Marshall Applewhite – Heavens Gate; Allen John Miller – Australia; Henry Christo – Brazil; and Jose de Jesus Miranda – Puerto Rico. And this barely scratches the surface!
Interestingly enough, when the Secret Service trains their agents to recognize counterfeit money, they don’t so much focus on the counterfeit bills. They primarily have them study the real thing. They observe how they look, feel, and smell. They eat, drink and sleep the originals until they know them backwards and forwards. Then when the counterfeits come along, they can just sense there’s something different. They can’t put their finger on exactly what it is. The fakes are so dang close to the real bills, there doesn’t seem to be any way of differentiation.
The primary way we can detect the spiritual wolves in our midst is to immerse ourselves in the scriptures and listening to the voice of God; by sitting under the teaching of men and women of faith repeatedly. We becomes so familiar with the real thing, that we just know when something is off. It smells like a sheep. It looks like a sheep. The bleating is perfect. Baa Baa Baaaa. But low and behold, it’s a wolf. Run!!!
Evil seems to be unrestrained. $11 billion last year was spent on pornography….that is more than Apple, Amazon, eBay, Earthlink, Google, Microsoft, Netflix and Yahoo combined! And in 2015 4 billion hours are spent each year viewing pornography; 42 million abortions per year. A mother’s most natural inborn instinct is to protect and nurture her child, but their precious babies are not only aborted, but sold piece by piece on the market. Sex trafficking is thriving. Marriage has been redefined….its sanctity trashed.”
In 2015, twenty million Christians were persecuted. Twenty one beheadings. One hundred forty two Christian university students shot and killed in Kenya. And anti-Semitism is again on the rise globally (France, Ukraine, America, and the United Nations).
Jesus said “The gospel is preached throughout the world.”
Christian missionaries have had worldwide gospel outreach since we’ve been an infant nation.
Then in 1950, the evangelical associations were formed. There was The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Campus Crusade for Christ, Young Life, Youth for Christ, InterVarsity, Youth With a Mission, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The “Jesus Film” http://www.jesusfilm.org is distributed in 230 countries, in 1,100 languages. It is reported that two hundred million people have come to know Jesus through the ministry of The Jesus Film Project.
The whole world can now hear and see the gospel presented simultaneously today whether in a live presentation, written piece, on the internet, a movie, or on ham radio. Two thousand eight hundred and eighty three languages have at least some portion of the Bible translated into their own language.
